Facelift Surgery

Age affects us all, and the symptoms of aging are often most immediately obvious in the face. Smooth, firm facial skin gives way with time to wrinkles and loose folds that make a person look old and tired. I use only the most advanced facelift surgery techniques to give patients , tighter, smoother facial skin. For more comprehensive treatment, many patients decide to combine facelift with other facial plastic surgery, or with non-surgical skin rejuvenation techniques.

Candidates for Facelift Surgery Facelift surgery is appropriate for a wide variety of people who want to eliminate lax facial skin and wrinkles surgically. I must evaluate each facelift patient at my clinic individually, but all good candidates share some common characteristics:

1. Realistic Expectations: A good facelift candidate understands the inherent limitations of surgery. A detailed consultation with me and the examination of plastic surgery before-and-after pictures of other facelift patients are important parts of knowing what to expect. A patient with realistic expectations is much more likely to be happy with his or her final results.

2. Good Overall Health: Good health is a general prerequisite to plastic surgery of any kind. For safety reasons, it is important to keep your doctor informed about medical conditions, medications, and changes in your health. Facelift is an invasive surgery, so patients will need to be strong and healthy enough to withstand surgery and recovery.

3. Good Skin Elasticity: Patients whose skin is healthier and more elastic typically enjoy the best results from facelift surgery.

The Facelift Procedure When performing a facelift, I first make a concealed incision behind the hairline and separates the skin from the underlying muscles and tissue. After tightening the facial muscles to improve the contour of the face, I stretch and repositionthe skin to make it fit the face more closely and to smooth away wrinkles. Finally, excess skin from the face is trimmed at the incision site and the incision is closed.

Facelift Recovery After surgery, the face and head will be bandaged, and patients will be sent home to recover. It is important to plan ahead and take about two weeks away from work for rest and recovery at home. During this time, patients may experience swelling, bruising, and discomfort. Any discomfort can be controlled using medication, and these symptoms will fade over the first few weeks of recovery. Facelift patients should avoid strenuous exercise for at least two weeks after surgery. When recovering from facelift surgery, it is important to be patient.

Facelift Results The results of the surgery will not be immediately evident, but will appear gradually as swelling and bruising fade. This process sometimes takes several weeks. I provide complete post-surgical care, including regular checkups, to ensure that healing goes smoothly. Though patients still age normally after facelift surgery, a good procedure can turn back the clock several years on a person’s appearance, smoothing and tightening the facial skin and helping him or her look and feel more youthful and more attractive.

Dimple Creation Surgery

A dimpled personality can steal a heart anytime. If you are one of those who looks for those adorable dimples, a dimple creation surgery can do the same. Dimples add character and charm to one’s personality and also helps brighten a smile. A dimple will occur naturally when there is a small defect in the cheek musculature. The skin underlying this small defect gets wedged down to the underlying connective tissues. That’s when a dimple is formed with smiling. Many patients feel that one of their siblings or close ones have attractive dimples and they are extremely happy to know that they can get their dimples too through a dimple creation surgery.

I make dimple creation a relatively easy and painless way for people who have always desired that irresistible dimple. Flash a dimpled smile.

Lip Augmentation Surgery

Lip Augmentation

Full, plump lips are striking but there are limits to your lips Lip augmentation is a cosmetic procedure that can give you fuller, sensual, plumper lips that are now considered aesthetically appealing. Those who have thin lips can rejoice fuller lips and enhance the look of the entire face. If lips are small, they can be increased in size by augmentation to make them more pleasing and attractive. The procedure is carried out using filler material, fat injections or implants.

Lip Reduction Individuals who have larger than average or large lips may feel self conscious about their appearance, as their lips appear out of proportion with other facial features. They feel that their lips aren’t in balance with the entire face and are too large. If the lips are large in size, they can be decreased by reduction surgery to make them proportionate and obtain a perfect balance of the lips.

Rhinoplasty

Overview As humans, the nose is one of our most prominent features. It is important to our overall appearance that it is well shaped, functions properly, and fits within the natural contours on our face. For those unhappy with the shape, size or proportion of their nose, rhinoplasty (cosmetic nose surgery) may offer the improvement they seek. There are many variations to the rhinoplasty procedure. The technique I use will depend upon your individual features and aesthetic goals. Alterations can be made to change your nose angle, reshape the tip, narrow the nostrils or change the size or width of the nasal bridge. I will discuss the options with you during your pre-op consultation.

Best Candidates Rhinoplasty, or nose job, offers benefits to individuals of most any age. However, children and teens should wait until their facial growth is complete. For girls, this typically occurs around age 16, and for boys at age 18. Good candidates for a rhinoplasty include healthy individuals with any of the following issues:

• A nose that is disproportionately large for the face

• A hump or depression on the nasal bridge

• A wide shape nose

• A nasal tip that droops

• An enlarged nasal tip

• Excessively flared nostrils

• An off-center or crooked nose

• A nose that is asymmetrical caused by injury or birth

• A nose that impairs breathing

Surgical Technique There are a couple of different ways to perform nose surgery, that being the closed technique and the open technique. Many plastic surgeons prefer the open rhinoplasty method because this approach allows them to gain a better view of the inside of the nose, as well as greater access to its support structures. The incision is made between the nostrils or under the nose near the nostrils. Once this incision is made, the skin is pulled back and the bones, cartilage and tissue within the nose are exposed so that reshaping and reconstruction can occur. Once the incisions are closed, scarring is minimal and will not be seen. Closed rhinoplasty is less invasive. It is generally used when only mild reshaping is needed, or if the tip of the nose is being addressed.

Expected Cost This is a specialized, tailored surgery, thus the cost will vary depending on the surgical case, as well as the aesthetic goals of the patient. Severe cases of nasal reconstruction surgery involving skin or cartilage grafting will increase the overall cost.

What Will My Nose Look Like? In general, rhinoplasty (cosmetic nose surgery) is designed to reduce excess cartilage and bone in the nose, removing irregularities and bumps to give a straightened, smooth and, usually, smaller appearance. Adding tissue to enhance certain features of the nose can also occur. The overall trend in modern rhinoplasty is away from over-reduction of tissue that can reduce the ability to breath through the nose and towards individualized treatment of each segment of the nose to give a balanced and refined look without compromising function.

Operative Time? Usually, Rhinoplasty takes from three to five hours depending on the complexity of the condition of the nose. Nearly all rhinoplasty operations are done as outpatient surgeries.

Bruising Afterwards? This depends again on how complex the procedure is, but in general most patients experience five to seven days of purple discoloration and swelling around the eyes and upper cheeks. The nose itself will be swollen for around ten to fourteen days or longer, but subtle resolution of the swelling at the tip of the nose can take months to go away.

Nose Growth, Postoperatively? In general, our noses tend to elongate as we enter the middle years of our life and drooping of the tip of the nose can occur in the later years as elasticity disappears from the body. While undergoing a cosmetic rhinoplasty as a teenager or young adult will not prevent the effects of aging on the nose, the final shape that results from this surgery is expected to last a lifetime and regrowth of bumps and deformities corrected by the operation is a rare occurrence.

Forehead Surgery A forehead lift, also known as a browlift or browplasty, is a cosmetic surgery procedure used to elevate the position of the eyebrow that may obstruct vision and alter the facial expressions. The deep worry lines that run across the forehead may portray to others anger, sternness, hostility, fatigue or other unintended emotions. It is a surgical procedure to change the position of the soft tissues of the forehead and create an arch with a peak. The surgery can change the appearance of the upper face and also reduce sagging of skin in the eyebrows and above the nose.

As you age and look into the mirror, your eyelids seem to be drooping and sagging which can be a disheartening condition. Your brows just aren’t as high and horizontal forehead lines appear. Due to aging, sun associated skin damage and genetics, drooping brows is a common change that we tend to notice as we age. The brow area is a significant one as it seems to be one of the first areas on our face to reveal our age.

The correction of your brows may require a surgical brow lift and there are also some non surgical ways to lift your brows such as using Neurotoxin , Filler or a combination. When Neurotoxin is administered to the forehead area, it will relax the forehead muscles and make the forehead smoother. Dr Suresh kumar is one of the best and experienced plastic surgeon to perform the Forehead lift to help to get a definite brow lift with a smooth transition of the arch. The procedure helps lift the eye lid, granting more lid space as well as a more open and youthful looking eye. The procedure and the effects of tightening are very natural and can last for years.

Double Chin Removal Surgery A double chin is a lot like cellulite and is caused by excess fat and loose skin on the neck beneath the chin. The tissue fullness causes the appearance of a second area beneath the skin which is called a double chin. Since the excess fatty tissues are visible near the facial features, your facial profile is ruined because it is being covered by the fat. This tissue fullness is very difficult to camouflage and it diminishes your facial profile. Even if you are following the diet and exercise perfectly, still this fleshy fold doesn’t disappear and there is no improvement in the chin contour by itself.

Double chin surgery can address the double chin and allow you to reduce it of once and for all. Double Chin surgery can be performed with good effects using the liposuction and mesotherapy procedure.

Mesotherapy is a safe, minimally invasive procedure used to melt away the fat and cellulite from the chin areas and establish an adequate skin elasticity.

Otoplasty Aesthetic plastic surgery can improve the shape or positioning of your ears if they are large in proportion to your other features or protrude more than normal. Surgery is possible at any age, but is often recommended for children as they near total ear development at age five or six. When the ears are corrected prior to the child entering school, the surgery helps eliminate potential psychological trauma.

The ears are positioned closer to the head by reshaping the cartilage (supporting tissue). This is usually accomplished through incisions placed behind the ears so that subsequent scars will be concealed in a natural skin crease.

After surgery, a gauze dressing or bandage may be worn for a few days or several weeks to ensure that the ears heal in their new, corrected position. Strenuous activities and contact sports should be avoided for.

Blepharoplasty Eyelid surgery, also known as blepharoplasty, helps to rejuvenate the droopy and sagging eyelids. Eye bags, as they are often called, give an impression of fatigue and age. By removing the fatty tissue and skin that create them, i am able to give patients of eyelid surgery a more rested, youthful appearance. In extreme cases, drooping eyelids may also block peripheral vision, making blepharoplasty important for safety. Eyelid surgery is also sometimes complement to brow lift surgery.

Eye Lid Reduction

I operate on patients through incisions in the creases of the eyelid in order to hide visible signs of surgery. I trim away extra skin, remove fatty tissue that tends to build up in the lower eyelid, and reposition the muscles to produce a tighter, smoother appearance before closing incisions to complete the blepharoplasty procedure.

Immediately after eyelid surgery, eyelid patients should be prepared for some swelling and soreness. Many people experience excessive tear production and temporary blurred vision, and some also report an increased sensitivity to light. Recovering patients will need to wear sunglasses to protect the eyes and use eye drops and a specially prescribed lotion to keep the eyes and incisions lubricated.

I usually remove blepharoplasty stitches about one week after surgery, and patients can return to work after 10 days. Early bruising and swelling fade steadily over the following weeks.

Face Bone Change Surgery Your face holds the cue to the person inside you. Your facial bone structure plays a big role on deciding how people see you and perceive you. If it ever seems to you that your face structure doesnt fit in perfectly to what you desire, you can alter it. Wondering how? Yes it is possible with a facial bone alteration surgery.

For those seeking to alter the facial bone structure, the prominence of facial bones can be increased by increasing their height with either facial implants or facial grafts. Bony prominences can be also be decreased by burying them down. Face bone structure prominences can be increased or decreased, depending on your overall face shape preferences.

Cheek Bone Augmentation/Reduction

Cheek augmentation with implants are performed for people who have very flat cheeks and need augmentation in that area. It can done both non surgical way using fillers and surgically using cheek implants. During a face lift surgery, we re-arrange soft tissue to get that epic bone structure and simulate fuller cheek bones.

On the other hand, a cheek reduction procedure can help reduce prominent cheekbones to even out the cheeks so that they match each other.

Angle of mandible In some cases, the mandibular angle looks prominent which comes mainly from the bony part rather than from the cheek muscle. prominent jaw bone especially at the mandibular angle as well as the board or square shape of chin bone gives rise to a masculine lower face.

The concept of mandibular angle surgery is to contour the jaw line to be femininely small, smooth and sloping and balance out an overly prominent jaw line.
